Serving the Community
To foster the credit union philosophy of "people helping people", our employees also serve as volunteers at community activities and charitable events. We are committed to our mission of giving back, both in direct financial contributions, but also with our talents and time. These values and practices are vital to Class Act.
Louisville Teacher Residency
The Louisville Teacher Residency is a one-year, urban teacher preparation program that aims to create a diverse teacher workforce that transforms educational outcomes of all students through courageous conversations, racially equitable instruction, culturally responsive teaching, and meaningful reflection. Class Act is invested in success of these residents and the students they serve.
That is why we partnered with LTR to curate comprehensive financial education curriculum, led by compassionate leaders within our organization. This partnership’s goal to educate, mentor, and invite an open discussion on how we view and manage our personal finances. We believe the resources and tools we provide the Louisville Teacher Residents will empower not just the residents themselves, but also the students whose lives they would certainly impact.
Junior Achievement
Class Act works closely with Junior Achievement (JA) of Kentuckiana and sponsors a booth at the annual JA Inspire—an event that introduces young people to career opportunities in our community. Class Act and JA have a similar mission to inspire young people to take charge of their future by preparing them to be successful in the workforce. In this event, we educate young people about the various career opportunities available at Class Act, and the importance of financial literacy.
Donation Drives
Class Act regularly serves as a donation site for various non-profits around Louisville. From school supplies, to toiletries, pajamas, to canned goods, we are happy and proud to contribute in service of our community. Some of the non-profit organizations we've been involved with in the past include Maryhurst, Santa's Little Helpers, and Free2Hope.
